"Broken Hearts" is a song by Christian hip-hop artist b-Rabbit which was released as a non-album single on November 18th, 2011. The song was written about Antonio Reyes, a freshman who drowned in a local high school pool in b-Rabbit's hometown of Wenatchee, Washington. In 2012, the song was announced it will be rereleased as both a single and an extended play entitled Broken Hearts: The Remixes and will serve as the first official single off of b-Rabbit's upcoming untitled studio album.


On November 17th, 2011 Antonio Reyes, a freshman at Wenatchee High School, drowned during a swimming class. Upon hearing this news, b-Rabbit quickly decided to pen "Broken Hearts" as a memorial song for the boy who was the same age as himself. Written, recorded, and mixed in only one day, the single was released the following day, the 18th.

Following Antonio Reye's death, b-Rabbit then wrote, recorded, and mixed "Broken Hearts" the day of his drowning and then uploaded the single to the next day on November 18th. A slideshow music video was later produced for the song.

Music VideoEdit

The official music video was released on YouTube and the official b-Rabbit Facebook page on December 17th, one month after Antonio's death. The music video was a slideshow featuring images of Antonio, his home, the Wenatchee Valley, and some images that pertain to the lyrical content of the song.

Broken Hearts (R&B Remix) was released on January 5th, 2012 on YouTube and RevrbNation as a promotional piece. The song featured a new R&B influenced beat and featured vocals from the late Michael Jackson via a sample of his 1993 song "Gone Too Soon".

On March 3rd, b-Rabbit announced that the remix and the original would be featured on his upcoming record, The b-Rabbit LP.

It was announced on June 27th, 2012 that "Broken Hearts" will be re-released as an extended play later in 2012 in preperation for The b-Rabbit LP. An official track list has not yet been announced by it was reveiled that the record would include eight songs, those being the album version, the R&B Remix, two unreleased remixes, and the instrumentals for each song. The record will be produced by YT Beatz, Sourze, and Terry Rare.
